Approved Quality Check

Prior to sale, every TOYOTA PLUS Approved User Car is submitted to a rigorous inspection by an approved technician working to a TOYOTA PLUS approved checklist.

Any work necessary to bring the car up to the high standard required is carried out prior to being offered for sale.

The inspection is mandatory on all vehicles that are prepared for sale under the TOYOTA PLUS Approved Used Car programme.


The following areas are covered by the inspection:

  • Service validation
  • Interior check
  • Engine compartment check
  • Underbody check
  • Exterior check
  • Road test
  • Full valet

Comprehensive Warranty

All major components of your vehicle are included in the 12 month Toyota Warranty or an equivalent level of cover.

All TOYOTA PLUS Approved Used Cars receive a minimum of 12 month Toyota warranty or an equivalent level of cover.

The warranty includes:

  • Unlimited mileage cover
  • Warranty repair work (which can be carried out at any Toyota Centre, or Toyota service outlet)
  • Toyota Roadside Assistance membership (including full European cover)
  • MOT test cover
  • Car hire and onward travel expenses in case of breakdown

MOT test cover

  • MOT test cover for the duration of the warranty

 The only exclusions are:

  • Wear and tear service maintenance items
  • Battery
  • Exhaust corrosion
  • Damage and wear and tear to trim and bodywork

 

Covered parts:

Lighting equipment:

Front and rear lamps, number plate illumination lamps, headlamps, headlamp aim, stop lamps, rear reflectors, rear fog lamps, hazard warning lamps and controls, direction indicator controls, fog lamp on and off indicator light.

Brakes:

Controls including ABS system if the warning light does not work in the correct sequence, the condition of the service brake and parking performance, corrosion of brake pipe (Frictional cover is not covered when the condition is related to wear and tear).

Steering and suspension:

Steering control, steering mechanism and system power steering, transmission shafts, wheel bearings, front and rear suspension and shock absorbers.

General:

Windscreen wipers and washers, vehicle structure, fuel injection and ECU replacement as a result of failure to meet MOT exhaust emission standards.

Seats and seat belts:

All seat belt mountings, their condition and operation, driver and passenger’s seat mountings and backrest security in an upright position.

 

Toyota Roadside Assistance

The Roadside Assistance includes:

  • Homestart
  • Onward journey
  • Collection and transportation to your local centre
  • 48hr replacement vehicle
  • Car hire and onward travel expenses in case of breakdown
  • European assistance

  • Renewal at the same high level can be purchased for £72* by calling Toyota Roadside Assistance once your complimentary year comes to an end.
  • Toyota Roadside Assistance can be renewed or purchased for £7 per month on monthly Direct Debit. The annual cost is £76 as a single payment by Credit or Debit Card, *we offer a discount when paying by annual Direct Debit reducing the cost to £72 per annum. Calls cost 13.1p (inc VAT) plus up to 4.01 ppm from a BT unlimited weekend plan. Mobile and other provider's charges may vary.

Vehicle Exchange Plan

Should you have reasonable cause to not be satisfied with your TOYOTA PLUS approved used car, you can return it within 30 days (with no more than 500 miles covered since collection/delivery) and exchange it for another of at least equal value exclusive of any accessories.

This 30 day vehicle exchange agreement is in addition to your statutory rights as a customer and is subject to the condition as detailed on the reverse of the agreement certificate.

You will be responsible for paying any difference in value if the replacement vehicle is a higher price than the original vehicle.

Only one exchange shall take place and the TOYOTA PLUS Approved 30 day vehicle exchange agreement shall not apply to any replacement vehicle.

 

In addition any costs which are incidental to the exchange of a vehicle will be payable by you, the customer, e.g. transfer costs of any outstanding credit agreement other that Toyota Finance and the removal or transfer of accessories.

Vehicle Provenance Check

The following checks are carried out on every TOYOTA PLUS Approved Used Car either through HPI/NMR or Experian/VMC and a certificate is supplied with every vehicle.

  • Mileage verification
  • There is no outstanding finance agreement
  • The vehicle has not been stolen
  • The vehicle has not been involved in a major accident

MyToyota

All Toyota owners are able to join MyToyota free of charge allowing you to manage your vehicle online and also gain access to fantastic owner offers and discounts through Toyota Rewards.

MyToyota is a new, free way of managing your car ownership, and a unique way of keeping track of everything you need to know about your car. Gone are the days where you need to stick notes to the fridge or write calendar reminders for when your next service or MOT is due, because MyToyota will remind you. Please disregard the mileage unless it is verified by an independent mileage search. A mileage investigation will be carried out by your chosen Dealer or Toyota GB (PLC) if offered via Direct.

Our Toyota Plus Direct vehicles go through our thorough comprehensive 145+ multi point inspection by one of our Toyota trained technicians at our dedicated Vehicle Preparation Centre and are Approved before delivery to you. Our technicians will test drive every vehicle to check engine performance, steering and brakes. They listen out for unexpected noises or vibrations and test for mechanical problems. Each vehicle is restored to the manufacturer’s settings and is checked to make sure they meet all MOT safety standards as a minimum. We also replace all brakes and tyres with less than 3 months normal wear left. If the vehicle requires a service within 3 months this will also be carried out. We will also carry out any minor paint defects repairs at our Preparation Centre. Cars with previous major damage are not offered. We own all our cars, so we can guarantee the quality of every car we sell. This means that when you buy a Toyota Plus Direct vehicle, you can be completely confident about its history, condition and safety. Toyota GB (PLC) vehicles can be sourced through your local Dealer or bought online.
